WAVES OF BURLESQUE

Documentary – 27 min (2022)
A live documentary program exploring burlesque and how it contributes to personal and societal liberation. In Waves of Burlesque (dir. Colina van Bemmel), we follow burlesque performers navigating the contrast between their sensual alter egos on stage and their roles in the outside world. Layer by layer, they expose themselves to the public while trying to change the unwritten rules of society.

To increase the film’s impact, we organized special cinema events where each screening was accompanied by panel discussions and live performances. The film was shown at various cinemas across the Netherlands during its tour.
