Colina van Bemmel is an artist and filmmaker from The Netherlands, directing and editing a wide variety of films, documentaries and branded stories. She graduated from ArtEZ University of the Arts (Fine Art, 2015) and the SAE Institute (Film Production and Directing, 2018). In her art practice, she blends traditional media such as drawing and photography with moving, immersive experiences. 

“As an artist and filmmaker, I want to shine light on subjects that have been hidden in the dark, always looking for a deeper layer underneath the story we see. With my work I invite people to reconsider their view on the world, stripped from popular ideas and external conditioning. It is only through this process that we can lead our lives according to our values and feel true connection with others. 

I find inspiration in nature, embodiment, symbolism, technology and the changes we are facing in our current times. In my work I explore these themes and the questions they bring up, as they continue to intrigue me. There can be great beauty in the unknown.”
