Resonance

Born from a desire to give form to the intangible, Resonance captures the physical trace of vibration. Inspired by Chladni’s moving patterns — where sound shapes sand into dynamic geometries — I sought to still that motion, to let sound leave a lasting imprint.

Using plaster, I channeled four distinct frequencies — 32, 50, 66, and 71 Hz until the sound became solid form. The height of each pillar corresponds directly to the frequency of the plaster sitting on it. It was interesting to witness how lower tones yielded broader, more substantial textures, while higher ones created finer, more intricate details.

The projected spectrogram translates the realtime soundscape into light, bridging the present with these solidified frequencies.
